El Mac (or The Mac) is a Los Angeles born artist who’s been studying art since childhood. He draws inspiration from LA’s Mexican and Chicano culture as well as from pin-up and religious art. We love his photorealistic depiction of women and how uses color. Creating unique and one-of-a-kind murals and graffiti, he’s been commissioned to paint all across the US as well as in France, Denmark and Mexico.
“I just really love to make art…to create…it’s very satisfying. Pushing around colors to make images that communicate something to other people. It feels like I’m doing something important, like I’m fulfilling some kind of duty. I feel like making art is some way of rising above basic instincts towards survival and reproduction, and trying to connect with the spiritual.” -El Mac
